The role of AI in higher education
Fast-evolving artificial intelligence, or AI, technologies are steadily becoming a common educational tool in a variety of academic disciplines. Some teachers are seeing the potential for AI to reshape education in the very near future. Among them is Pavan Turaga, a professor and director of ASU’s School of Arts, Media and Engineering, a collaborative involving the Fulton Schools and the university’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. While there are concerns about negative consequences resulting from ways generative AI could be used, Turaga and others still see potential for the technology to enhance learning.
