Chaowei Xiao joins the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering from Nvidia, where he worked as a research scientist focused on improving the robustness of machine learning systems.
Xiao’s interests embrace the intersection of computer security, privacy and machine learning. His research expertise helped win the best paper award at the 2021 International Conference on Embedded Wireless Systems and Networks.
Xiao’s work has also been featured in media outlets, including Wired and Fortune, and one of his research outputs on adversarial machine learning is displayed at the Science Museum in London.
Xiao says he looks forward to joining Arizona State University and participating in a broad array of collaboration opportunities.
