Wherobots is building a data platform to treat spatial data as a ‘first-class citizen’
Technology for developing geospatial analytics applications and deploying them with major cloud data services has drawn more than $5 million in seed money for a startup venture founded by Mo Sarwat, an associate professor of computer science in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence, part of the Fulton Schools, and a computer science colleague at Washington State University. Many current data platforms offer minimal functionality for users working with space and time data, Sarwat notes, while his company offers a more efficient and scalable data platform for spatial analytics and artificial intelligence applications that will be especially useful for insurance, fleet management, automotive, agriculture, and real estate industries.
