Securing borders and supply chains and improving efficiency: Q&A with Ross Maciejewski
Ross Maciejewski’s achievements in visual analytics and data science as a graduate student at Purdue University earned him a scholarship from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to do research to help the agency to more effectively employ expertise in those fields to aid law enforcement efforts. Today, Maciejewski is director of the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence, part of the Fulton Schools, and leads the Center for Accelerating Operational Efficiency, or CAOE, as part of ASU’s Global Security Initiative, or GSI. On it’s 10th anniversary, Macijewski assesses the work of GSI and CAOE and the emerging challenges they continue to face, as well the learning opportunities they are providing to students.
