New ASU Center confronts the silver tsunami
ASU is enlisting several of its researchers in efforts to meet the growing challenges of caring for an aging population through the launch of the Center for Innovation in Healthy and Resilient Aging. At least three Fulton Schools faculty members will have leading roles in the center’s first research endeavors. Assistant Professors Wenlong Zhang (at right in photo) and Erin Chiou will be involved in the project “Understanding fall risks and mobility independence in older adults with smart shoes.” Associate Professor Pavan Turaga will collaborate on the project “Towards real-time fall risk assessment in Parkinson’s disease by continuous monitoring of free-living activities.”
