NASA AWARDS $127,000 TO ASU AND PADT FOR BIOMIMICRY 3D PRINTING RESEARCH

ASU will be able to ramp up innovation in 3D printing technology and manufacturing with new support from NASA, says Ann McKenna, professor and director of The Polytechnic School, one of the Fulton Schools. The national space agency’s funding for research and technology transfer awarded to ASU and the Phoenix Analysis and Design Technologies company will help accelerate the development of 3D-printed structures for spacecraft. The work will expand capabilities for mimicking biological structures to advance 3D-based additive manufacturing, says Fulton Schools Associate Professor Dhruv Bhate.
