Muslims In Medicine: A New ASU Club Supporting Future Healthcare Professionals

A new ASU organization, Muslims in Medicine at ASU, intends to offer support to Muslim students pursuing careers in medical and other healthcare professions through their studies at the university. The new group’s vice president, Raheemah Gheyasi, a first-year computer systems engineering student in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence, part of the Fulton Schools, notes that there are other campus organizations focused on the medical field, but that he and fellow students wanted a group to address  specific needs and challenges faced by members of the Muslim faith. The organization has already begun efforts to support students. Through Muslims in Medicine, Gheyasi and another student plan to assist in offering panel discussions and training for Muslim students in collaboration with ASU’s Muslim Student’s Association.
