Innovation in Solar Panels: The Revolutionary Technology That Turns Light and Air into Drinking Water

Solar energy technology is undergoing innovative transformations that are increasing its productiveness and broadening the outlook for solar power sources to contribute to efforts to expand clean energy systems. Among these advances are hydropanels that capture solar energy combined with systems that extract water vapor from the air and turn it into clean water. The technology developed by Cody Friesen, an associate professor in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy, part of the Fulton Schools, is being commercialized by major companies and backed by major investors. Such advances are viewed as providing future solutions for disadvantaged communities striving to develop and maintain sustainable vital resources.
