ASU’s Semiconductor Community Faces Uncertainty After Funding Cuts

Recent federal funding cuts have stalled projects such as an ASU semiconductor advanced packaging and prototyping facility. Graduate student Carson Gockley , a process engineer at ASU NanoFab, and undergraduate Alex Stephenson, co-president of the Sun Devil Semiconductor Club, both students in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, part of the Fulton Schools, comment about the potentially troubling impacts of the funding cuts but also how students, schools and ASU leaders are pushing forward despite the cutbacks and note how Arizona’s semiconductor industry momentum remains strong.
