ASU water expert says social science must be part of addressing water insecurity
Collaborations between experts in a wide range of professions are more necessary than ever in seeking solutions to the world’s most critical challenges, says ASU President’s Professor Amber Wutich, director of the university’s Center for Global Health. Wutich also leads Arizona Water for All, one of the five pillars of the Arizona Water Innovation Initiative, led by ASU’s Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory in collaboration with the Fulton Schools. She talks about what she sees as a major necessity for social scientists, engineers and biophysical scientists to find common ground and successfully work together to adequately address increasingly serious water insecurity challenges. Paul Westerhoff, an ASU Regents Professor in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment and the Fulton Chair of Environmental Engineering, is closely involved in these and related endeavors at ASU.
