ASU student, inventor aims to calm nerves without meds
The nervousness that hampered his performance on the golf course in high school competitions has led Fulton Schools bioengineering graduate student Nicholas Hool to explore ways for people to calm their nerves without the aid of medication. The “Hoolest” earbuds he is developing send painless electrical impulses to stimulate the nerves that control the body’s relaxation process. He thinks it can not only help people relax and sleep better but perhaps eventually be used to help people overcome symptoms of neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease.
